How can you help?

With grants totalling £3,850 over 2016-18 for the Festival of Literature for Young People (FLY), INTO Giving is supporting literacy and reading workshops for children from throughout East Anglia.

FLY is an annual festival at the University of East Anglia, attended by more than 1,000 children. The rationale for FLY is that deprivation in East Anglia is mirrored in the low achievement in many Norfolk schools. Additionally, there are around 125 languages spoken as a first language other than English, by Norfolk school-aged children.

We also know that the proportion of young adults reading for pleasure has also been on the decline while it is now known that students who read for pleasure are more likely to go on to higher education, get better jobs and have a higher income. FLY aims to step in and help change this.
